Background

A PAAM Committee led by Jack Lenhardt in 1999 recommended a change to Aurora calm wind RWY 35 following a year of study.  The recommendation was made to Oregon Aeronautics in 2000.

Aeronautics' response was to hire a consultant for $85,000 to do another study.  A citizen's committee (Decibel Noise Committee) was formed in 2001 and after a year and a half of further study, the following report and recommendation was issued.

Final meeting was Wednesday, May 29  2002
Subject: HMMH final recommendation review
Aurora City Hall

The final noise mitigation report indicated that the maximum noise mitigation would be achieved by changing the calm wind runway at Aurora State Airport from Runway 17 to Runway 35. Click for recommendation page
